À propos de la conférence
Launching the Spring 2024 GRITH lecture series titled “Tibet in Canada / Canada on Tibet”, this presentation is a broad overview of the studies about Tibet carried out in Canada, by Canadians or about Tibetan-Canadians. Embracing a diversity of perspectives, it starts with precursors such as travellers to Tibet in the early 20th century, then sets out to inventory what has been achieved so far, first by individuals scattered across various institutions (or even countries), then for the last two decades or so, within three main research hubs in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal.
