Working title of the thesis : “Uncovering the teachings of the Kadampas: the importance of adamantine songs in the Kadam tradition”
My research focuses on translating the first Tibetan commentary on Saraha’s dohas, written by Parpuwa Lodro Sengge, included in the collected works of the Kadampas. As Parpuwa’s commentary is the first in a long tradition of commentaries on Saraha’s dohas, it is often quoted in later commentaries. By translating and analyzing this work for the first time, I hope to enhance our understanding of Saraha songs, of the 12th century Tibetan Buddhist context, and of the later commentaries which are part of the same lineage.
